Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
• Support with mobility and provide transportation assistance if necessary.
• Help with light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and organizing the client’s living space.
• Monitor and document client’s health status and report any significant changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of clients while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Home Health Aide (HHA) with a valid New York State certificate.
• Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program with a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
• Ability to pass a competency evaluation and be listed on the New York State Home Care Worker Registry.
• Must pass criminal background checks, health screenings, and drug tests as required by New York State regulations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• Empathetic, compassionate, and reliable with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to assist with client mobility, perform light housekeeping tasks, and provide care in a home setting.
• Reliable transportation may be required depending on the client’s location.
