Eligible Medicaid Fee-for-Service beneficiaries must have an assessed need for physical assistance with at least one activity of daily living. An Adult Services Worker completes an in-home assessment and determines eligibility, authorized tasks, and service hours.
The client may choose an eligible individual caregiver or agency provider. Individual caregivers must meet Home Help rules and complete required provider enrollment steps before reimbursement for covered services.
Yes, an eligible adult family member or trusted person may be chosen as a Home Help caregiver when program requirements are met. The caregiver must be at least 18, complete the required enrollment and screening, and provide only the services authorized for the client.
