Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding.
• Provide safe mobility, transfers, and positioning; use proper body mechanics.
• Take and document routine vital signs and observations; promptly report changes to the nurse.
• Support infection prevention practices and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Offer companionship and emotional support; promote client dignity and independence.
• Perform light housekeeping and meal prep related to client care, as assigned.
• Work under the supervision/delegation of a licensed nurse and follow plan of care.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland CNA certification (in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing).
• Home Health Aide competency (or willingness to complete agency competency validation).
• GNA preferred; required only when assigned to licensed nursing facility settings.
• Current CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain promptly after hire).
• Strong communication, reliability, and professionalism.
• Meets agency health and background screening requirements; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
